Kaj Gottlob (b. Copenhagen 1887, d. 1976)

Very rare and exceptional freestanding bar cabinet on tall Brazilian rosewood legs. Body of cabinet with slooping sides decorated with drop shaped inlays of blonde and dark Brazilian rosewood and ebony. Front with fold down leaf, behind which bar interior of lemon wood with shelves and holders. Brass fittings. Designed 1951. Made approx. 1951 by cabinetmaker A.J. Iversen. H. 124 cm. L. 99,5 cm. W. 40 cm.

Model presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark, 1951. Literature: Grete Jalk [ed.]: “40 Years of Danish Furniture Design”, vol. 3, p. 177. This cabinet is one of only two known examples of this model.
