The work by Egill Jacobsen in this auction - a pinnacle of the artist's early production - bears witness to the power and aggressive strength with which a new mode of expression hit the Danish art scene in the late 1930s. Obviously, only a handful of works from this turbulent period remain in private ownership. Its extensive dossier speaks volumes and bears witness, not least, to the importance the artist attached to this work.
