And you can start bidding now! Silver, porcelain and paintings...If you collect Russian silver, there’s plenty to choose from – such as a salt cellar in the shape of a throne, embellished with cloisonné enamel, made by Nicolai Vasilievich Alexeiev in 1895; an empire etui of silver embellished with niello work from Moscow, 1817; and a sugar bowl embellished with cloisonné enamel, by Grigori Michailovich Sbitniev of Moscow, 1908–1917. The Grand Duchess’ curiositiesThe online auction includes a number of curiosities such as several of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna’s personal possessions, such as her hand bell with two bears in patinated bronze and a wooden box carved like a Russian cabin. Also in the auction are two porcelain plaques with a double portrait of Czar Nikolai II and Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia from their visit to France in 1896. The above is just a small selection of the many Russian lots that can be seen at our preview before they come under the hammer. We hope you will enjoy our Russian themed auction.
