Bruun Rasmussen Russian

Our second Russian online auction this year is now taking place, with a wide selection of Russian art and antiques.

Russian themed auction

Bruun Rasmussen’s Russian themed online auction covers a varied selection of Russian art and antiques – ranging from fine art to silver with enamelling, pocket watches, jewellery, bronze sculptures, collectables as well as porcelain, to modern art. And you can start bidding now!

Silver, porcelain and paintings...

If you collect Russian silver, there’s plenty to choose from – such as a salt cellar in the shape of a throne, embellished with cloisonné enamel, made by Nicolai Vasilievich Alexeiev in 1895; an empire etui of silver embellished with niello work from Moscow, 1817; and a sugar bowl embellished with cloisonné enamel, by Grigori Michailovich Sbitniev of Moscow, 1908–1917.
If, on the other hand, Russian porcelain is your thing, a notable specimen is an empire coffee cup embellished with gold on a green background, which comes from Tzarskoe Selo, the Czar’s palace outside St Petersburg; also, there is a dinner plate from the Ropsha Service, first used at the Winter Palace and later in another imperial palace, the Ropsha Palace.
If you are interested in acquiring fine art, it is worth mentioning “The Bride” by Mikhail Vasilievich Bryansky (1830–1908), as well as modern art by Djavad Mirdjavadov (1923–2003).

The Grand Duchess’ curiosities

The online auction includes a number of curiosities such as several of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna’s personal possessions, such as her hand bell with two bears in patinated bronze and a wooden box carved like a Russian cabin. Also in the auction are two porcelain plaques with a double portrait of Czar Nikolai II and Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia from their visit to France in 1896.

The above is just a small selection of the many Russian lots that can be seen at our preview before they come under the hammer. We hope you will enjoy our Russian themed auction.

Online auction 1037

Preview at Havnen and Aarhus from Saturday 4 September 2010.
The auction concludes on Wednesday 15 September 2010 from 6 pm.

Submissions

In order to meet demand for Russian art and antiques, we are open to consignments of paintings and art works for our Russian-themed auctions. Our next Russian-themed auctions are held in November.
