A rare Danish sword given by king Frederick VI to sergeant Ipsen for gymnastic ability in 1832 in its brass scabbard with a c. 84 cm. straight unmarked single edged blade. The scabbard marked SKJÆNKET AF HS. MAJASTÆT KONGEN TIL SERGEANT IPSEN AF BORNHOLMS MELICE FOR UDMÆRKET FLIID I GYMNASTIKKEN AARET 1832.
The grip cracked on one side. The blade stained and the scabbard is dented and the blade cannot enter it completely.
