A fine Dutch iron mounted flintlock pistol c 1690 by Pentermann in Utrecht. The butt cap with a grotesque mask and long spurs, pierced iron escutcheon, lightly engraved lock marked PENTERMAN UTRECHT for either Barend or Gerrit Pentermann, Pierced foliated side plate, trigger guard ending in a vase, c 34 cm long barrel in calibre c 16,5 mm steel carved above the powder chamber, wooden ramrod ending in horn held to the stock with two round pipes.
