A large Russian colossal silver travel coffee and tea service, several parts with gilt interior, engraved with chinoiseries, birds, flowers and foliage, comprising swing kettle with lid and ivory spout handle on a stand with burner, teapot with lid, coffeepot with lid, sugarbowl with lid, creamer, cakebowl, cakedish with handle, lemon fork, sugar tongs and strainer. Workmaster Mikhail & Semen Gavrilovich Gratchev, maker Johan Ferdinand Olsonius, assayer Alexander Frans Fan-der-Flet and unknown Cyrillic assayer IE, St. Petersburg town mark 1887 and 1888, 84 standard. All parts in original oak box, lined with blue velvet and white silk, marked inside in the lid Gratchev St. Petersburg (in Cyrillic). H. swing kettle (incl. handle) 37 cm. H. creamer 10 cm. L. lemon fork 14 cm. H. box 23 cm. D. 46 cm. L. 71 cm. Total weight c. 5,563 gr. (13).
Proveniens: Acquired by seller's parents-in-law in Aarhus during the 1960s.
