The painters visited the village in the early 1830s.

Bernt Lund was a student of Thomas Fearnley in the late 1830s, later he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf.

Thomas Fearnley's painting is owned by The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham.
